Krrish

Gearing up for a summer release, "Krrish" stars Hrithik Roshan, who portrayed the protagonist in the earlier film, former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, Rekha, Naseeruddin Shah, and Preity Zinta in a cameo role.

Shot in Singapore and Kullu Manali, in northern India, "Krrish" was made with a budget of $10.2 million.

If "Koi...Mil Gaya" introduced sci-fi to Indian audiences, breaking box-office records everywhere and winning many awards, including the National award, then, according to the director, "Krrish" goes on to explore new cinematic territory with spectacular special effects and stunning action sequences never before seen in the Indian cinema.

Special effects were done in Los Angeles by Marc Kolbe and Craig Mumma, who also did them for "Koi...Mil Gaya." The duo is popularly known for their special effects work in Hollywood films like "Independence Day," "Godzilla," "Deep Blue Sea," and "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow."

In what is believed to be the director's toughest and most challenging film ever, the action sequences in "Krrish" were directed by none other than Hong Kong's action director, Tony Ching Siu Tung, whom Rakesh Roshan met after valuing his work for the action sequences in the Chinese film, "Hero." Tony Ching Siu Tung also made a huge impact in Hollywood.

The music of "Krrish" was composed by one of Bollywood’s most popular music directors, Rajesh Roshan, an integral member of the Roshan team.

Director Rakesh Roshan will be releasing more than 800 prints of "Krrish," which will also be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. This would be the first Hindi movie to be released in two other Indian languages. Earlier, Roshan's 1995 film "Karan Arjun" was released in south Indian languages, but not simultaneously.

A blend of Western technology and an Eastern medley of music, dance, and emotions, "Krrish" will open in theaters worldwide on June 30.
